Nebraska elementary school children are learning how to “Build a Better World” through the 2017 Nebraska Extension 4-H Summer Reading Program which is focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) projects for children this summer. As part of this initiative, public libraries across Nebraska have been introducing children to fun themed, STEM activities and reading lessons.
Some of the Cedar County public libraries are showing children how to build a shoebox-sized green roof. The College of Architecture in partnership with Nebraska Extension developed an animated video introducing children to the concept of green roofs and the profession of landscape architecture. Looks like these children had a great time building their very own green roof! Thank you Cedar County!
