Tenure Track Architectural Faculty Positions

The multi-disciplinary University of Nebraska College of Architecture is seeking candidates to fill tenure-track positions in both the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Programs. The faculty is seeking motivated, energetic individuals who desire to be a part of a growing design/research school within a land grant institution that values the three missions of Teaching, Research / Creative Activity, and Service. The College grants a pre-professional Bachelor of Science in Design degree, a professional Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, a professional Master of Architecture, and post-professional MS and PhD. degrees. DIGITAL DESIGN, One Position

Assistant/Associate Professor candidates should demonstrate potential for excellence in architectural design and research interest in the use of digital technology. Design experience in either traditional or nontraditional practice, based in total or in part, on the use of digital technology is preferred. The college possesses both CNC and laser cutting equipment along with a significant information technology infrastructure. Students are required upon entry into the College to have their own laptop computer that meets the specifications defined by the program. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership in the areas of both design and the use of digital technology.

Candidates must:

  • Hold a proffessional degree in architecture and have at least a Masters or Doctoral degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Computer Science or related profession.
  • Be eligible for, or possess professional registration as an architect.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE, One Position

Assistant/Associate Professor candidates should demonstrate potential for excellence in landscape architecture design and research. The successful candidate will possess both the ability to teach fundamental design skills and a willingness to participate in the full studio curriculum. Candidates with specialized landscape-related experience in urban design, environmental / sustainable design, community outreach or design practice / research are encouraged to apply. Faculty for this program are drawn from architecture, agronomy, horticulture and planning. This multi-disciplinary approach for the program requires a willingness and / or experience in collaboration with other design professionals to be a critical component. The successful candidate shall possess the pioneering spirit required to recruit students and forge a new and innovative landscape architecture program.

Candidates must:

  • Have either a Doctoral or Master degree in landscape architecture, or both a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a terminal degree in an allied profession.
  • Be eligible for, or possess professional registration as a landscape architect.
  • Be fluent in digital technology.
