2008-2010 Hyde Professorship

A 2008-2010 Hyde Professorship focused on extending the key concepts of climate change by converting them into specific plan components to increase understanding of how and where to integrate climate change mitigation and adaptation approaches into local land use planning and decision-making. Current projects underway include a Nebraska statewide, GIS-aided parcel-based, visualized geospatial "early warning" information system to quantitatively assess the spatial impacts of ethanol plans' discharges on groundwater and surface water quality. Dr. Tang has been awarded a new Hyde Professorship for 2010-2012 for his proposal titled:  " Examining The Impact of Neighborhood Characteristics On Low-Income Children’s Physical Activity And Rates Of Obesity."
