Andrea Gebhart, AICP, is the Community Engagement Manager at JEO Consulting Group, located in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a certified planner, Gebhart blends her creative, yet practical nature with her robust facilitation and communication skills to help communities identify and pursue their goals. Working alongside civil engineers, architects, surveyors, environmental specialists, and other planners, Gebhart’s experience covers a wide variety of topical areas, including transportation, water and wastewater utilities, environmental planning, and strategic planning.

Gebhart completed the UNL CRP program in 2013 and earned her AICP certification in 2018. She has also remained involved in the CRP program, regularly returning to teach a 5-week mini course which provided instructional direction of several Adobe Creative Suite programs that would support development of visually engaging and effective professional documents.

As part of her MCRP professional project, Gebhart summarized and discussed the implications of current research relevant to virtual communities, with an emphasis on the attributes and sustainability factors of virtual communities. The knowledge and experience gained from this project proved useful at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when Gebhart helped geographic-based communities transition to and implement virtual engagement techniques.
