Two Master of Community and Regional Planning (MCRP) graduates from 2012, Rachel Jones and Andrew Thierolf, met with students in the CRPL 900 Professional Planning Practice course on September 12. Rachel and Andrew both grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School. Both pursued their undergraduate degrees at UNL – Rachel earning her Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in anthropology and international studies and Andrew earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in economics.
After earning their MCRP degrees at UNL, both worked for consulting firms, Rachel in Denver and Andrew in Bismarck, North Dakota. Eventually the two returned to Lincoln and are now employed as planners in the Lincoln/Lancaster County Planning Department.
Students in the Professional Planning Practice course enjoyed hearing about the career paths of these two young professional planners, as well as the types of projects they have worked on in their professional positions.
