Six months ago the City of Lincoln formed the Lincoln Citizens' Transportation Coalition, comprised of 25 citizens from public and private sectors and six current elected officials. Assistant Professor Dan Piatkowski of the Community and Regional Planning program was among the contributing members.
Their charge, to analyze the city’s Long Range Transportation Plan and identify priorities, processes and efficiencies to help implement the plan as well as find additional funding sources for the city’s current and future transportation growth needs.
After six months of collaboration, the committee has formulated a list of recommendations for consideration which they will present this Thursday, January 11th to Mayor Chris Beutler at 1:30pm. The mayoral press conference and coalition presentation will be held at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Unite Private Networks Conference Room, 3 Landmark Centre, 1128 Lincoln Mall, Suite 100. The public is encourage to attend.
