Kevin Benham is trained as a biologist, architect and landscape architect and works at the intersection of these disciplines. His practice borrows from land-art and looks carefully at landscape phenomena. His installations require astute observation over periods of time and often elucidate temporal meteorological conditions as well as inherent biological systems.
Before coming to the University of Nebraska, Benham was an assistant professor, John Emerson/Wayne Womack Design Professor, Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University’s College of Art and Design.

Research Interests
His research and work focus on landscape phenomena and the temporal qualities inherent in the discipline. To that end, he produces temporal and ephemeral land art installations that elucidate phenomena requiring careful observation through space and time.
