Salvador Lindquist is an assistant professor with the Landscape Architecture Program. Lindquist received his Master of Urban Design with high distinction from the University of Michigan in 2019, and Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with a minor in community and regional planning from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2014. During graduate school, he worked for several design research practices including RVTR and Extents. Prior to graduate school, he practiced as a licensed landscape architect and urban designer at SmithGroup in Ann Arbor, MI working on projects at a multitude of scales, from regional planning to site design.
While in Michigan, Lindquist co-founded Context, a design and research collaborative that explores relational systems thinking at various scales – urbanism, landscape, architecture, object – to conduct contextually-driven urban research through exhibition and project work. His area of research is in environmental justice, systems thinking and mapping with a particular interest in post-industrial landscapes, shrinking cities and marginalized communities.
