Sara Troupe is the Academic Navigator for the College of Architecture, as well as the colleges of Fine and Performing Arts and Journalism. The Academic Navigators program at UNL is a part of a collaborative student success team that hopes to have a large and meaningful impact on historically under served students. Their work will entail engaging in outreach campaigns throughout the year for at-promise scholars as well as responding to referrals from the university community. They will have the opportunity to work with students experiencing complex barriers and issues that require multiple touch points to resolve. The navigators team, which primarily works with our first-year undergrads, understand how cultural context, differences and institutional/social barriers influence the student experience. Troupe was most recently with Schoo Middle School and Lincoln East student teaching. Some of the courses she taught included English 7, English 10, Women’s Lit, Detective Fiction and Banned Books. Troupe also facilitated the Slam Poetry club. She is a UNL alum with a BS in Secondary English Education ’18. She will have regular office hours one day a week in Room 232 Arch Hall West.
