FACT (Fabrication And Construction Team, a student design-build workshop), in collaboration with Min | Day, is designing and building a series of single-family houses for the non-profit community development agency Neighborworks Lincoln. The homes will utilize repurposed shipping containers as a primary structural and spatial component. The goal of the studio is to find ways to use the containers efficiently and honestly, taking advantage of inherent structural properties with minimal modifications to the box.

A prototype for an undetermined site in Lincoln, Box House Two includes 5 20-foot containers each supporting a single function: a storage/work space, 3 bedrooms, and a kitchen. The containers are organized on two stories with a two-story site-built living area at the front of the home. The re-painted containers become the dominant feature of the living space.
