Professor Rumiko Handa has contributed a chapter in a book titled "Imperfectionist Aesthetics in Art and Everyday Life" (Routledge, 2022). Her chapter is titled "The Aesthetics of Imperfection and Architectural Design for Memorial Sites: Four Documentation Centres on National Socialism in Germany."

Handa also reviewed a book titled “Victorian Structures: Architecture, Society, and Narrative” (State University of New York Press, 2021), written by Jody Griffith. The book review was published in Nineteenth-Century Contexts journal (vol. 44, no. 5).

Papers recently presented by Handa include "Architectural Reconstruction Reconsidered for Continuity: Cases from the Postwar Germany" at the International Association for the Studies of Traditional Environments (IASTE) conference held at the National University of Singapore, on December 16, 2022.

Professor Zhenghong Tang and his collaborators received an award from the Department of Agriculture-RD for a project entitled “Destination Knox County, Nebraska: Tourism Planning and Strategic Placemaking.”

Associate Professor Yunwoo Nam and his collaborators were awarded a grant from the Nebraska Association of County Officials for a project entitled “NACO County Official Online Learning Network.”

Assistant Professor Salvador Lindquist will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Field Guide to a Hybrid Landscape” hosted by the Great Plains Art Museum, February 23, at 5:30 pm. Nebraska is home to the largest hand-planted forest in the Western Hemisphere. The Great Plains Art Museum is currently displaying an exhibition of photographs of the forest by UNL Art Professor Dana Fritz. The forest and the photographs will be the topic of this panel discussion, featuring Fritz, Katie Anania, Rebecca Buller, Rose-Marie Muzika, Salvador Lindquist and moderator Carson Vaughan.

Assistant Professor Aziza Cyamani earned a very prestigious award, the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship. This fellowship program supports educational projects at African higher educational institutions. This summer Cyamani will be collaborating with the Creative Design program at the University of Rwanda in curriculum enhancement for their product design specialization and establishing research collaborations.
