We are united by an unwavering belief in the transformational power of design and planning and our ability to affect positive change in this world.

Welcome to the Nebraska College of Architecture. The four programs within the College of Architecture, including Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Community and Regional Planning prepare emerging professionals who are poised to recognize and address challenges in innovative ways. Our graduates are leaders infused with both the confidence that comes from embedded and discovered knowledge, as well as the wisdom to apply it.

We build community in an inclusive innovation environment and value diverse perspectives; kindness, empathy and courage; thoughtful leadership; and informed risk-taking. Our intellectual environment is stronger because of our dynamic close-knit community and pursuit of meaningful impact. We aspire to much more than developing the base competencies needed for traditional models of practice, instilling a desire for inventive application of knowledge as our graduates expand the boundaries of their professions.

We know that one discipline cannot solve all of the complex issues facing us in the world today, it is only through collaborative, synergistic and trusting relationships with diverse partners that we will, together, build answers. Not only do our programs exist together under the umbrella of the College of Architecture, we are intentional about the process of developing collaborative skills. During the undergraduate experience, a carefully crafted first year common experience firmly establishes creativity as a foundation and builds the collaboration and leadership skills throughout the educational process in subsequent years; culminating in the fourth year Collaborate Studio.

We welcome you to explore our majors and minors and join us as we prepare skilled professionals who possess creative confidence, who understand the value of multiple disciplines and their intellectual contribution, who help craft environments that are sustainable and resilient, prosperous and fair, healthy and beautiful.

Kind Regards,

Sharon S. Baum Kuska
Interim Dean of the College of Architecture
