Nathan Anderson (he/him/his) is an Academic Advisor in the College of Architecture. Originally from Grand Island, Nebraska, Nathan earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2018, graduating with a degree in education and human sciences and a focus in journalism and human development. He later earned a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 2022.
Nathan's connection to UNL extends beyond his academic experience. He and his wife met while attending the university, and their appreciation for both Lincoln and the university community ultimately led them back to Nebraska.
Prior to joining the College of Architecture, Nathan served as an Academic Services Specialist in the Office of the University Registrar, where he supported students from across the university. His professional passion lies in helping students navigate their academic journeys, overcome challenges, identify opportunities, and achieve their educational goals. He is excited to work with College of Architecture students and support their success throughout their time at UNL.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and two children exploring a variety of hobbies, including tabletop gaming, video games, reading, and movies. A self-described enthusiast of all things "nerdy," he is always happy to discuss Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, board games, science fiction, fantasy, and other shared interests.
Nathan is also a U.S. Navy submarine veteran. His military service provided him with unique experiences and perspectives that continue to shape his approach to problem-solving, teamwork, and student support.
