Reclaiming Tremé is a phased initiative to reunite the Tremé neighborhood split by the racially charged placement of the Claiborne Expressway, also known as "The Monster." Through historical analysis, case studies, and context-sensitive design solutions, this thesis showcases the potential for design to reconnect and strengthen the well-being of the oldest African American community in the U.S.
