Through extensive cultural training, community engagement events and interdisciplinary collaboration, the outdoor spaces developed as a place for Indigenous people to heal and grow. The re-imagined grounds create spaces to inspire learning, celebrate culture and promote wellness. But this project is much more than physical programming. The design is a symbol of resilience, belonging and empowerment. It is creating an identity for the proud people of the Lincoln Indian Center.
