CHILDREN BUILD GREEN ROOFS FOR SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Nebraska elementary school children are learning how to “Build a Better World” through the 2017 Nebraska Extension 4-H Summer Reading Program which is focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) projects for children this summer. As part of this initiative, public libraries across Nebraska have been introducing children to fun themed, STEM activities and reading lessons.

Two student projects from the College of Architecture have been honored with awards from the 2017 Society of American Registered Architects | New York Council Design Awards program.
• Darin Hanigan, Brooke Sayler and Phung Hong won the 2017 Award of Merit for their “Bee Research Facility” from the ARCH 311/501 studio.

SGH/DRI DESIGN COMPETITION WINNERS
The College of Architecture is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s SGH/Dri-Design Competition; “Interstitial Hope” by Mallory Lane and Benjamin Kunz was the winner of the SGH/Dri-Design Competition.
The jurors were impressed with the team’s conceptual rigor and clear design trajectory.

College of Architecture Announces Leadership Transition
The College of Architecture announces a leadership transition in the Architecture program; after five years in the role, Program Director Jeffrey L. Day is returning to be a full-time faculty member at the end of this semester. As a faculty member, Day will once again focus more time on his creative scholarship activity than is possible in his current role.
