Carrying through his teaching and practice are set of common themes including the role of history in the design of buildings, metaphor, type, character, and narrative.
Stewart received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Architecture from Princeton University. His work has been widely published in magazines, online, and in books. Recently, he co-authored the book Mis-Guided Tactics for Propriety Calibration, published and funded by the Graham Foundation.
