NU team among finalists for global Pandemic Response Challenge
A team of researchers from three University of Nebraska institutions is among the finalists in a global competition to develop an artificial intelligence-driven model to advise policymakers on how it is best to handle the COVID-19 pandemic.
And with one of the most-accurate models in the early phase of the competition, the Nebraska team is well within range of the $500,000 top prize.

Landscape Architecture Faculty Member Named to Forbes’s “30 Under 30” List
The College of Architecture is pleased to announce Landscape Architecture Professor of Practice Yujia Wang was named to the elite Forbes China 30 Under 30 list. BVH donates lead corporate gift for scholarships and design competition
Working to elevate design excellence, student engagement and access to higher education, Nebraska-based BVH Architecture pledges $45,000 in scholarship funds as the lead corporate gift for the College of Architecture’s Norman Ochsner Matching Gift Challenge. As a matching gift, the scholarship funds will be matched by the Ochsner fund for a total impact of $90,000 for student scholarships.

Remembering Emeritus William Borner
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, William Borner, who was a colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend to our alumni and faculty of the College of Architecture. William Borner joined the architecture faculty in 1972 after serving as an assistant professor at Kansas State University and the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

Across Nebraska, many communities are facing a housing crisis. A shortage of affordable rental properties for low-income families and skyrocketing housing construction prices make homeownership a lofty goal for many. In particular, the housing crunch has caused economic hardships for the rural, tourist town of Valentine, Nebraska.
