FACT (Fabrication And Construction Team, a student design-build workshop,) in collaboration with Min | Day, often works with non-profit arts organizations. The Salina Art Center runs a community-based program of exhibitions, performances, films (in its cinema) educational activities and maintains a residency for one artist at a time. FACT began a long-term relationship with the Salina Art Center in 2010 with a master plan to guide the updating and expansion of its facilities. In fall 2011 FACT built and installed Phase 1, a series of cabinetry / wall units and fabricated a set of modular "PenTables" for the ARTery, the SAC's public art education space in the facility’s primary public lobby. The space serves multiple purposes from exhibition and education to public dialogs and dinners. FACT students collaborated with local craftsmen and inmates in the Lincoln Correctional Center to complete this project.
