The PARK(ing) DAY project illustrated here features the work of UNL student Garth Britzman and advisor Peter Olshavsky. It is an annual global event where citizens, designer and activists collaborate to temporarily transform parking stalls into temporary public places. The event began in 2005 when Rebar, a San Francisco art and design studio, converted a single metered parking stall into a temporary public park. For PARK(ing) DAY in Lincoln, students designed architectural installations for stalls around UNL's city campus.
