More than 6,400 University of Nebraska–Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year, 178 were from the College of Architecture.

Qualification for the Deans’ List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center.  

The College of Architecture is pleased to announce Assistant Professor Kendra Ordia was honored with the 2023 Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) Teaching Excellence Award! Ordia was awarded this accolade because of her efforts in crafting nature-integrated interiors through biophilic experiential learning methodology in teaching studios.

The College of Architecture is proud to announce this year’s PAC Prize Winners. First prize goes to Devyn Beekman, Elizabeth Abigail Loftus, Hannah Lanae Morgan, Collin David Shearman and Nalin Theplikhith for their project “KÖPRÜ” (Dairy/Café).

Frank E. Ordia, lecturer in the College of Architecture, has received the 2023 Great Commoner Award, presented by the Preservation Association of Lincoln (PAL). Among eight awards presented annually by PAL, the Great Commoner Award recognizes outstanding efforts in preservation education. Ordia was honored with the award at PAL’s Annual Meeting, Awards Ceremony & 30th Birthday Celebration.

In the 2022 fall semester, the College of Architecture opened up a new library and new studios as part one of a two-phased construction project. 

The College of Architecture is excited to announce Rana Abudayyeh, named DesignIntelligence’s “most admired educator,” will be giving the next Hyde lecture titled “Becoming Dynamic: design in the age of multivalence” April 7, at 4 p.m., Richards Hall, room 15.

Interior Design 2002 Alumna Kelly Dubisar was named as one of the Nebraska Alumni Association's Alumni Masters.

Dubisar is an award-winning Design Principal for Gensler, a global architecture, design and planning firm. She has used her creative energy to provide tailored design solutions for iconic clients such as Instagram, Google, and LinkedIn.

Twenty-six students, staff and faculty will be honored by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Women’s Center with the 2023 Women of Courage, Character and Commitment Award.

The annual award recognizes women from the campus and Lincoln communities who have made positive impacts through professional, personal, mentoring or peer relationships.

Striving to improve Nebraska communities, College of Architecture students are working to create a public art space in the economically depressed, south downtown neighborhood in Lincoln. Once complete, the Art Chapel will offer studio space, exhibitions, classes and other art-related events for the community.
