Research Description:

Her primary research focuses on the interplay between political hegemony and Modern architecture in various nations, particularly during transitional periods and post-production phases. In her current work, she contends that the transplantation of Western Modern architecture in Thailand by Western-educated Thai architects sparks a Neo-colonial movement, as these architects’ creations were subtly influenced by the American Cold War agenda. She also has a keen interest in colonial and post-colonial architecture, particularly in Southeast Asia countries.

Modern and Postmodern Architecture; Colonial, Crypto-colonial, and Postcolonial Theories; Regionalism and the Vernacular; Southeast Asian Architecture and Urbanism; Southeast Asian Studies; Thai Studies
